Agder Symphony Orchestra
Agder Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1989 and aims to provide amateur musicians in the Agder region with the opportunity to perform symphonic music. The orchestra has a versatile repertoire, with our main emphasis being the classical orchestral literature. In addition to the
standard symphonic works, our programs include sacred music, as well as music from other genres.
The orchestra has a close partnership with the artistic faculty at the University of Agder, and this collaboration allows the students at the university the opportunity to gain valuable orchestral experience and soloist training, while at the same time strengthening our orchestra. Adam Grüchot is our main conductor for these collaborative projects, and for the orchestra's other projects, we choose from among the region's best conductors.
Agder Symphony Orchestra currently has around 35 permanent members, and welcomes new members to join us. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings, from 19:00 to 21:30 in Sal 1 of Sigurd Kohn's House at the University of Agder. For more information, please contact Kjersti C. Petersson at +47 995 38 399 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
